Today we made paper chain links. I ran all over the house with them and threw them up in the air. I thought it looked like a snake. Mommy cut the paper then would tell me what color to give her when she was gluing them together. They were great until Ethan got up from his nap. He got hold of them, crushed them and ripped them up. I didn’t get mad though, I laughed at him and joined in helping rip them up. After we were done I had to help mommy pick them up and throw them away.

When Daddy got home from work we went out shopping and I was in a silly mood. I said hi and talked to everyone that went past us. Ethan was tired and cranky and I kept giving him hugs. Mommy and Daddy were shocked since just a few months ago I would have screamed at him if he touched me. I guess I’m growing up.

I’ve been told its time I start earning my keep around here. Mommy made a chore chart for me and every time I do a chore I get a star! My chart has pictures on it and I know what all the pictures are. I have to make my bed, pick up my toys, brush my teeth, put my cup and plate in the sink and go potty. I don’t have potty stars yet but Mommy sure does talk about them a lot. Whenever I’m asked if I need to go potty I say “NO NO NO”. Mean Mommy makes me sit on the potty at least three times a day but I hold it until right after I have my diaper back on. I’m working really hard to drive Mommy crazy. We had a good laugh tonight. I was sitting on the potty while Mommy was changing Ethan’s diaper, he escaped and ran into the bathroom and peed on the floor. Little brothers are funny. Daddy said at least one of the kids would go potty in the bathroom, sure isn’t me!

Mommy is working on getting my chore chart online for other little kids to use.

Since it has been so cold lately we’ve been doing crafts with winter themes; today we made mittens. Mommy traced an outline of my hands on construction paper and cut them out. She then gave me stickers to put on them, I love stickers. After that I painted them with Crayola Glitter Glue. When I was finished decorating them Mommy poked two holes through the top and tied some yarn through them. It was really easy to do and great for a day when you do not have a lot of time.

We visit lots of websites and play games. Some I can do myself but most of them Mommy has to help me with. These are my favorites.

jump start toddlerI have computer games that I play. When Mommy got her new laptop she gave me her old one. I love my Jump Start games. They teach me shapes, numbers, colors, songs and I get to play musical instruments. Mommy likes it because it keeps me busy for awhile and I learn a lot from it.

It snowed! This morning when I woke up the ground was covered in snow. We got dressed and took Daddy to work and the roads were slippery. I liked the snow, I grabbed a big hand full of it and told Mommy how cold it was.

When I was taking a nap Mommy got everything ready for our project today, we made a snowman out of paper plates. I pulled apart cotton balls and glued them to the plates, then helped glue on pom poms for the eyes and buttons. Next we glued on the nose and hat that mommy cut out of construction paper, pipe cleaner for the mouth, felt for the scarf and pipe cleaner for the arms. The plates and hat are glued together in the back using popsicle sticks.

Mommy and I made up a new game called the Alphabet Hop. We divided a big sheet of paper up in squares and Mommy wrote a letter of the alphabet in each square. I know a lot of my letters and this game helps me with finding them and recognizing them. Mommy would call out a letter and I would hop in the squares until I got to it and then I would stand on it. The paper made a lot of noise when I would hop on it and I like that. It was fun until Ethan finished his juice and tried to join in. Mommy had to put it away because Ethan started rolling around on it.

This morning mommy took Ethan and I to the gym with her and we got to play with other kids in the daycare, it was so much fun! Ethan didn’t want anything to do with me, he was more interested in stealing food from the big kids.

When we got home Ethan went to bed and Mommy and I started making a biiiiig Georgie. I laid down on a big sheet of paper and mommy used a marker and traced all around me. I got marker all over my fingers and I kept asking “what happened mommy”. I was tired from my big morning at the gym so I went down for a nap and slept for 4 hours. Mommy said that tomorrow we are going to put a hair and face on me. If we have enough time we even get to make clothes for me. I like things that are all about me!

It was another busy day today, we had to go get the oil in the car changed so we spent a long time out of the house. When we got back it was past my nap time so I had lunch and went to sleep. Today I decided to start acting my age and live up to being a terrible two. I got in trouble! I broke all the blinds I could reach in my room.

We only had a few minutes before we had to go pick up Daddy for craft time so we made a silly face. Mommy helped me add eyes, a nose and hair to a paper plate and then I got to draw the mouth on with glitter glue. I used it to play peek-a-boo with Ethan.

Tomorrow we’re going to do a project as big as me!!

getting ready for prekI’m still 7 months from starting Preschool but mommy wanted to get an early start. She bought me a book called Getting Ready for Pre K by Jane Carole. I’m not old enough to do most of the activities in the book but I am able to recognize numbers, shapes, letter and objects. Tonight I sat on the couch with mommy and we counted objects, i told her what the colors were and we recited the alphabet. Mommy says in a few months time when I understand it a bit better we’ll start doing some of the activities in the book. The book has lots of pictures, bright colors and fun activities. It kept my attention for over half an hour so it must be good!

It was really busy today and we didn’t get to do a craft project but we wanted to share a couple that were done during the week. We had lots of scrap paper left from all the crafts we do and mommy let me rip them all up. We put glue on a sheet of paper and I stuck them all over it. I think they look like leaves.

The second one was from the day we made the ice cream cones. Ethan tore up way too much tissue paper so mommy let me color a paper plate and then we glued the rest of the tissue paper to it. It was really easy and a lot of fun.

We keep all our scraps in a big ziploc bag and save them for other projects, we always use them!
