Yesterday we planted a little herb that we can watch grow. We are living in a townhouse this spring and don’t have a place to plant a garden so we planted an indoor one. Ethan and I were a big help!

Ethan inspected everything as it came out of the box

I inspected the stickers to make sure Mommy put them on all correctly then Ethan did a durability test.

Mommy highly recommends not turning your head for two seconds when doing this with a one year old. We put it in the window upstairs that gets the most sun and we’ll check on them every day to watch them grow. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks we’ll have Parsley, Sage, Cilantro, Dill and Basil.

Today Mommy and I glued colored squares to paper bags and took a lot of different colored things out of our craft kit. We picked out colored letters, tissue paper, pipe cleaners and pom poms in lots of different colors. Mommy mixed them all up on the floor and I had to put the item in the bag with the right colored square. I was having a great time until Ethan decided he wanted to join in the fun.

sheep in a jeep
We read Sheep in a Jeep a few times today because its my favorite book and I always want to read it one more time. I like it because it has silly sheep riding in a Jeep. The Jeep is red just like Mommy’s. Its a funny book and I like telling Mommy everything that is happening in the pictures. Mommy uses it to teach me words that rhyme. We read it almost everyday and today we made our own Sheep in a Jeep on a hill that’s steep.

Mommy did all the cutting and I got to do my favorite part, the gluing! We cut green paper to make a hill and glued it on to the blue sky. We cut a jeep out of red paper and the wheels out of black paper. We added a tree and I stuck on some of my foam leaves and even managed to sneak in a butterfly and a few flowers. We added cotton balls for sheep but they don’t look much like sheep. It’s OK though, they are fluffy like sheep and it doesn’t bother me.

I got to learn about horses today. I kept confusing them with cows so Mommy decided to set me straight. We watched some horse video’s on You Tube, one horse named Patches was riding in a car! We had horse food, carrots and apples, for a snack. I colored a horse with my crayons and then I made a horse with clay from my Busy Box.

Here’s my horse!

Mommy taught me the Humpty Dumpty nursery rhyme while we did a craft for it.

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall

Mommy cut out squares and rectangles in lots of different colors and helped me learn the difference between the shapes. We glued them on to a piece of construction paper to make a wall. Then we put humpty dumpy on the wall and gave him some googly eyes and painted on a smile.

Humpty Dumpty had a great fall

Mommy let me use scissors today! I held them and mommy taught me how to cut paper to make grass. We glued our grass to the bottom of a sheet of construction paper and then glued Humpty Dumpty to the page on the grass. He fell down! We glued torn up tissue paper on him to make it look like he was broken from the fall. I thought he was sad because he fell so we painted a frown on him.

Mommy and I made two candles out of toilet paper rolls and tissue paper. We recited the Georgie be nimble rhyme and I jumped over the candlesticks! Since I like to sing and Mommy has started teaching me nursery rhymes and we’re making crafts to help me act them out and remember them.

I got to color in my favorite activity book today, its I Can Color! It has a lot of fun activities that are made for my age and help me get ready for preschool. I like it because I get to color and it has lots of bright pictures. I always want to do lots of activities in it. Mommy likes it because each page comes with instructions on how to help me with the activities and it builds motor skills. Today I drew blueberries and raisins on some oatmeal, I got a little excited at the end and made big raisins. I also got to help the frog splash in the water.

We visit lots of websites and play games. Some I can do myself but most of them Mommy has to help me with. These are my favorites.

jump start toddlerI have computer games that I play. When Mommy got her new laptop she gave me her old one. I love my Jump Start games. They teach me shapes, numbers, colors, songs and I get to play musical instruments. Mommy likes it because it keeps me busy for awhile and I learn a lot from it.

Mommy and I made up a new game called the Alphabet Hop. We divided a big sheet of paper up in squares and Mommy wrote a letter of the alphabet in each square. I know a lot of my letters and this game helps me with finding them and recognizing them. Mommy would call out a letter and I would hop in the squares until I got to it and then I would stand on it. The paper made a lot of noise when I would hop on it and I like that. It was fun until Ethan finished his juice and tried to join in. Mommy had to put it away because Ethan started rolling around on it.

Whenever Mommy and Daddy take me out at night I always look for the moon. Last night I saw an airplane going straight for the moon and yelled out as loud as I could “Oh no airplane on the moon”. I said it over and over the entire time we were out shopping. This mommy took me to free play at gymnastics and I was looking for the moon, I thought something had happened to it!

After I had my nap mommy decided to teach me about night and day. First we made night. Mommy cut out a moon and I got to draw circles on it. Then we got to draw stars with glue and sprinkle glitter all over them. It was messy and I liked it. Ethan came walking by and fell face first into our glitter and ended up with it all over him.

Next we made day. Mommy cut out a yellow circle and I got to draw daddy in it. I always draw a smiley face for daddy. We glued the sun on the paper and cut some yarn and glued that on for the suns rays. Then we made a big cloud a medium cloud and a little cloud by gluing on some cotton balls. I told mommy I wanted a bird so we made one with feathers and a little orange triangle for the beak.

It was a very quick craft day but still a lot of fun!
